Our Office

Unity Brighton, located only a short walk away from Brighton train station, is in the brand new Brinell Building. Occupying floors 1 to 4, our new office is buzzing with all the cultural nuances of Brighton itself, from the artwork to the meeting room names! Due to our central location in Brighton, you’re never far away from great food or fantastic coffee, and of course, we’re close to the seafront which is always great for a lunchtime swim.

Who we are:

Unity Brighton is home to an eclectic mix of Unity teams, including Support, Engineering, Documentation, R&D content, Sales, and Recruitment. A true reflection of the city, we’re quite a multi-cultural group of around 200 people — and growing fast! We’re a social office, with people from different teams regularly catching up over a game of pool or a cup of coffee.

Our new office space is fantastic, and was designed, not only to reflect the city but to reflect how we work! As a result, we’ve got plenty of communal space to catch up in or if you just need a change of scenery. We’ve lots of meeting spaces too, and dedicated areas for VR and gaming, of course!

What do we do for fun?

We’re certainly an office where we work hard and play hard too, and our Workplace Experience (WE) team are always making sure we’re well looked after. Each floor is kitted out with a coffee/tea station, which is fully stocked with biscuits too. Oh, and did I mention we have a Pub? So when work winds down on a Friday afternoon, you’ll find people make their way to the Seagull’s Rest for a drink, some board games, and karaoke (if you’re brave enough)!

As I’m sure you’d expect, we love to game! You’ll often find people playing ping pong, or games in our console room. We also love to play board games and we actually have a subscription service deliver us fresh board games so there’s always something new to play!

There are always things happening in the office too! We have Smoothies on Tuesdays, Breakfast on Wednesdays, and Yoga on Thursdays, and of course our Friday social.

Our City

What to see

Brighton has plenty to offer! Nestled between the sea and the South Downs National Park, it’s great location allows us to take advantage of both the local countryside and the bustling town and beach. There are far too many things to mention here but below we’ve picked out a few choice sites to visit.

Here’s a list of some popular spots nearby:

  • The Royal Pavilion: An iconic building with great history dating back to King George IV
  • Brighton Pier: A great way to spend the afternoon, either on the rides or in the arcade
  • I360: A new addition to Brighton’s skyline and a great way to see Brighton from a different angle
  • Brighton Marina: A buzzing location full of restaurants, shopping and bars
  • The Lanes: Brighton’s famous shopping area where you can buy anything from a diamond ring to a Hemp bag!

Where to eat

Brighton’s cosmopolitan culture has created a thriving food scene! Whether you’re looking for some classy fast food or some of the best Pizza in the country, you won’t be disappointed.

  • VIP — Very Italian Pizza: VIP is a local pizza place that prides itself on its Italian roots. It can be worth reserving a table if there’s a few of you going — this place is usually pretty busy, which is always a good sign!
  • Food for Friends: Brighton’s original award-winning vegetarian and vegan restaurant. This place is fantastic, no matter what your dietary preferences!
  • Burger Brothers: Hip, white-tiled specialist burger bar with wood flooring, high stools and chalkboard specials. What more could you want?!
  • The Bok Shop: Fried Chicken like you’ve never experienced before! This little place is awesome, and their vegan burgers are great too!
  • The Chilli Pickle: Seriously good Indian food. Like, really really good.
  • Carlito Burritos: Mexican street food, packed full of flavour!

Where to drink

Unsurprisingly, Brighton’s coffee scene is as vast as its food scene. Whilst you’ll be hard pushed to avoid walking past a Costa or Starbucks, we’ve carefully curated some of the best places to find coffee, tea, and maybe something stronger!

  • Cafe Coho: The best coffee in Brighton (according to the unbiased author of this document). It’s only a few minutes away from the office and they also have a great cake selection; with brunch served through the day too!
  • Trading Post Coffee Roasters: The team at Trading Post love coffee to the extent that they have a menu with different coffee roasts, all of which are roasted here in Brighton. They’ve also a great lunch menu!
  • Prince Albert: Just a spit from Brighton station you’ll find the legendary Prince Albert! An independent, family-run pub, this place almost always has live music in the evening and a selection of fine beverages.
  • World’s End: Into your gaming? So are the World’s End! They have an in house arcade, with VR and RC Car racing
